What is Medication Management?
Medication management is a vital part of psychiatric treatment plans. Our highly trained and compassionate mental health providers will make sure you feel informed every step of the way. Our providers help patients who want to be evaluated for medications, who are currently taking medications or who need medication adjustments. An initial evaluation at DWA is the first resource people should use if they want to be evaluated for medication. During your initial appointment, which is approximately 55 minutes long, your mental health provider will ask questions about your symptoms, review your medical history, family history, and discuss your lifestyle. Once the diagnosis is made, your provider will work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that may include a combination of medications, therapies, and referrals.Genetic Testing
At Denver Wellness Associates, our providers offer pharmacogenetic testing to help figure out which medication is best for you. Understanding your genetic makeup helps your provider determine which psychotropic medication and what dosage level works best for you. Our providers use GeneSight medical DNA testing, which determines how your body utilizes medication. Knowing this helps us identify the most effective medications for you and rules out medications that are unlikely to be effective.ADHD Testing
ADHD is a chronic mental health condition that causes problems with focus and concentration and other areas of functioning. There are several screening tests that providers can use to diagnose ADHD. One of the tests that DWA offers is the Conners CPT 3™ (Conners Continuous Performance Test). The Conners CPT 3 is a task-oriented computerized assessment of attention related problems. This test helps to provide objective information about a person’s performance in attention related tasks.Services Coming Soon
Many of our patients benefit from medication management, genetic testing, and ADHD testing. For those with medication-resistant conditions, we will be offering TMS and ketamine-assisted therapy soon. Here is more information on those services.Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-approved treatment for people with treatment-resistant mental health diagnoses. This means they fail to find relief from medications and other treatments. TMS therapy uses a coil that emits magnetic energy to stimulate nerve activity in a particular part of the brain. Often, the prefrontal cortex is targeted because it is responsible for mood regulation and decision-making. There are a few common mental health conditions that can be successfully treated with TMS. These include anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. At the Denver Tech Center, we will use CloudTMS and MagVenture transcranial magnetic stimulation equipment. These the state-of-the-art TMS devices effectively treat our patients with mental health disorders.Esketamine-Assisted Therapy & Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
