Andrea Johnson, Psychiatrist

Dr. Andrea Johnson is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed both adult psychiatry training as well as child and adolescent psychiatry training at the University of Colorado. She then completed additional training in forensic psychiatry and remains on faculty as a Senior Clinical Instructor with the University of Colorado forensic psychiatry program. Dr. Johnson has worked in a variety of clinical settings and is confident in diagnosing and treating a wide array of psychiatric conditions. She has diverse clinical experience involving both medication management and various forms of therapy. She is comfortable treating young children, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults, as well as individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and perinatal patients. Dr. Johnson views each patient as a unique individual and approaches treatment in a collaborative and comprehensive manner, prioritizing family involvement especially when working with children and adolescents. Dr. Johnson is committed to using up to date, evidence-based treatments to address psychiatric symptoms in a way that aligns with her patient’s values and goals.
