Joanne King, PMHNP-BC

Joanne is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The Yale School of Nursing in Orange, Connecticut. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan.

Before transitioning into advanced practice nursing, Joanne built a successful career in human resources, specializing in employee relations, conflict resolution, coaching, and workplace well-being. This experience shaped a deep understanding of human behavior, interpersonal dynamics, and the systemic factors that influence mental health—perspectives that now enhance Joanne’s clinical practice.

As a PMHNP, Joanne is committed to holistic, patient-centered care, offering comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapeutic support for a wide array of psychiatric and mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety and trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. She has exposure to a variety of clinical settings, working with adolescents and adults in inpatient medical settings, inpatient psychiatric care, crisis stabilization, intensive outpatient and residential treatment, and community mental health.

With a distinctive background that bridges behavioral health and organizational psychology, Joanne brings more than 10 years of combined experience in psychiatric nursing and human resources leadership. At Denver Wellness Associates, my goal is to cultivate a collaborative treatment environment to empower patients on their path to recovery by integrating clinical expertise with empathetic and trauma-informed communication and a deep understanding of the organizational and social factors that influence mental well-being.
