MaryRose McDermott, PMHNP - BC
I’m passionate about helping people better understand their emotions and feel less alone in what they’re going through. With over 13 years of nursing experience—primarily in oncology—I’ve supported many individuals navigating the emotional impact of serious illness, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University and my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado.
My approach to care is warm, collaborative, and holistic. I integrate psychotherapy, medication management, and practical lifestyle strategies to help clients find what works best for them. I work with both adults and children and have clinical interests in anxiety, ADHD, depression, eating disorders, women’s mental health, postpartum anxiety and depression, and challenges related to family dynamics and parenting. I especially enjoy helping people understand how anxiety works and develop practical skills to manage it so it no longer feels like it’s running their lives.
I’m passionate about reducing the stigma around mental health diagnoses and helping people recognize that needing support is a normal part of being human. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where clients feel heard and respected. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I strive to ensure everyone feels comfortable showing up as their authentic selves while building insight, developing coping skills, and moving toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me snowboarding in the winter, working on embroidery projects, or baking pastries—activities that bring me joy and help me stay grounded
